Unveiled begins as the plane carrying Fariba (Jasmin Tabatabai) leaves Iranian air space. As she removes her headscarf, her radical process of reinvention begins Persecuted in Iran for her love of another woman, she flees to Germany to seek asylum. When her application is turned down, her desperate prospects take unlikely twist following the unfortunate suicide of fellow asylum seeker. Siamak without even time to grieve, she assumes his identity and uses his temporary to enter the country and a place in a mens hostel.

In order to pay forged documents, she takes an illegal job and meets the vibrant Anne (Anneke Kim Sarnau - The Constant Gardner), who becomes intrigued by this stranger, soon suspects Siamak's secret and uncovers her true identity.

This is a beautiful told story of integration, love and identity, with extremely powerful performances from the two leads.

"Tabatabai draws a convincing portrait of a woman desperately suppressing her natural desires out of concern for her own safety, a double lie that eats away her insides, and there's a genuine erotic charge to her and Sarnau's scenes together." - Variety
