Jennifer Tilly plays Tara, a straight woman who is something of a mother hen to the group, and who is desperate to get pregnant. Her friend Vincey (Mitchell Anderson) constantly bemoans his lack of a boyfriend, and lesbian couple Sarina and Megan (Cynda Williams and Serena Scott Thomas) face problems when Megan admits she’s had sex with a man while on a business trip. Sarina flees into the arms of Robin (Lori Petty). Vincey finally finds a man he likes, but when he brings him to the group, he’s more interested in Vincey’s friend Javi (Eddie Garcia). When Vincey and Javi are attacked by gay-bashers in the street, the film takes a surprisingly violent and unsettling turn, and the group faces being torn apart.
